Security And Logistics Officer

This position will be responsible for directing and controlling security operations within the entire Institute, coordinating the transport system of the Institute and their safety as well as handling administration issues within this function. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Advice management on security requirements for the Institute, develop and enforce sound security policy and procedures to protect staff, clients, visitors and safeguard Institute assets.
  • Manage both internal and external investigations and act as a liaison officer to all interested parties including police and auditors.
  • Provide security briefing to staff as needed and ensure that all staffs adhere to security policies and procedures. This includes briefing to all newly recruited staff
  • Maintain comprehensive records of all investigation findings and action plans.
  • Liaise with relevant authorities, which includes ministry of foreign affairs, airports security personnel and police in planning logistics for dignitaries attending KIM events e.g. KIM Convention, Graduations, COYA among others for safe running of the events.
  • Inspect equipment, structures or materials to identify possible causes of security lapses and communicate the findings to the management.
  • Ensure active participation of the (OSHE) Committees and first Aiders to enhance safety and health of the Institute staff.
  • Ensuring safety of all Institute vehicles by ensuring that they are well maintained, serviced and always in clean condition and that the insurance and road license is always updated on time.
  • Supervise and allocate duties to all the Institute drivers and evaluate them in accordance with Institute performance appraisal standards.
  • Participate in safety committees, education programs and joint consultations affecting the work force.
  • Maintain and take charge of the KIM CCTV system and ensuring its functional all the time.
  • Manage outsourced security service provider in all KIM Offices/branches to ensure effective security for the Institute

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

• Minimum of Four (4) years’ working experience in the similar role.

• Bachelor’s degree in Criminology and security studies from a recognized institution.

• Certification in investigations.

OTHER SKILLS/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED

• Experience with customer management and relationship management teams

• Good Interpersonal and communication skills.

• Proactive approach to problem solving.

• Ability to work under pressure to deliver challenging targets.

• Integrity and commitment to duty.
