The 2021 Company of the Year Awards (COYA) call for entries is now open. Organized by The Kenya Institute of Management (KIM), COYA seeks to promote and encourage best practices in key global
Business excellence parameters including;
1.Leadership & Management
2.Human Resources Focus
3.Customer Orientation & Marketing
5.Innovation, ICT, Knowledge Management
6.Corporate Citizenship and Environment
7.Productivity & Quality
The Awards are based on Organizational Performance Index (OPI) where processes and systems are assessed and benchmarked against global standards.
The Assessors and Technical Committee comprises of professionals drawn from the Leadership and Governance, Human Resources, Finance, Audit, academia etc., with high levels of expertise in their respective areas.
Participating organizations nominate at least seven champions to attend a training programme on Business Excellence Models and Organizational Performance Index. With these skills, the champions are able to conduct a self-assessment of their organizations’ processes linking existing business strategies, what is implemented, and whether the results are sustainable.
Using a self-assessment tool, a report is submitted for desk analysis to KIM assessors who verify the champions` report.
Submissions from both the champions and assessors are analysed for further benchmarking against industry standards. This moderates and validates the score to establish the level of performance.
The team selects three companies with exemplary performance in each category and presents the report to the panel of judges for final validation.
