Ms Rose Detho is the Director, Strategic Management Department, Central Bank of Kenya, since April 2014. She holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) and a Bachelor of Commerce degree, both from the University of Nairobi. She has previously served as Director, Bank Supervision Department, CBK (2007-2009), and Director, Deposit Protection Fund Board (2009-2014).

Ms Detho also served in the Board of the Capital Markets Authority (CMA) as an Alternate Member to the Governor for eight years until April 2016; as Council Member to and Treasurer of the International Association of Deposit Insurers (IADI), between 2009 and 2014; and as Statutory Manager in resolving problems in some banks in Kenya in various periods.  Ms Detho serves on the Board of the Kenya Deposit Insurance Corporation (KDIC) as an Alternate Member to the Governor. She is a member of the Kenya Institute of Bankers, a Fellow of the Kenya Institute of Management, and a member of the Nairobi Hospice.
