The Government of Kenya, in partnership with the World Bank, is implementing the Kenya Youth Employment and Opportunities Project (KYEOP) 2016 – 2021. The project development objective of KYEOP is to increase employment and earning opportunities among targeted young people across Kenya. The main beneficiaries of the proposed project will be youth between 18-29 years of age (with some component extending up to 35 years) who are jobless and have experienced extended spells of unemployment or who are currently working in vulnerable jobs. The level of education of targeted beneficiaries will be up to Form 4. This program will provide selected Kenyan youth with an opportunity to acquire relevant work experience and skills, through a training program.

In the first cycle of this training program, the Kenya Institute of Management (KIM) is expected to train youths in Core Business Skills Training (CBST) in five (5) counties i.e. Nairobi, Mombasa, Kwale, Nakuru and Kisumu. The program will be conducted simultaneously for 10 working days (2 Consecutive weeks) in all the 5 Counties. The Institute hereby seeks to recruit results-oriented and self-driven experienced professional to join our team for the position of:


This position is responsible for the preparation of training materials both live and online and /or other interventions for the trainees in the following areas:

a) ICT

b) Entrepreneurship

c) Financial Management

d) Business Administration

e) Business Management

Knowledge, skills and experience required:

1. First degree in a related field, plus an understanding of the country’s business practices;

2. Industry experience and ability to share these experiences with others;

3. Excellent one-on-one and group presentation and facilitation skills;

4. Ability to use a variety of learning/training concepts and principles;

5. Knowledge of adult learning;

6. Excellent verbal/written communication skills as well as strong interpersonal skills and relationship building;

7. Information search and research skills, analytical and creative problem solving skills, questioning and feedback.


This position reports to the Regional Project Coordinators and its overall responsibility shall be to coordinate and provide administrative and logistical support of the KYEOP project activities and events.

Roles & Responsibilities:

1. Follow through the KYEOP project work plans in liaison with the Regional Project Coordinators to ensure that project activities run as scheduled;

2. Coordinate meetings, seminars and/or workshops relating to the project;

3. Safe keeping of project assets, stationeries and other procured items;

4. Manage and maintain project databases and records of project activities and trainings;

5. Maintain cordial relationships with project clients, consultants and other stakeholders;

6. In liaison with the Finance department assist with accounts and finance harmonization; i.e. follow up on debtors and creditors while maintaining general accounts;

7. Assist with report writing when an activity is complete and dissemination of the same.

Knowledge, skills and experience required:

1. First degree in Business/ Entrepreneurship /Project Management and related field.

2. Post graduate qualification will be an added advantage.

3. At least 4 years’ experience and above in the related field.

4. Proficiency in basic MS Office Packages.

5. A result oriented individual and a team player of high integrity, with strong analytical and interpersonal skills.
