The Kenya Small and Medium Enterprise Road Construction Project has been developed with the aim of developing and facilitating SME road contractors to submit more qualified bids and win more contracts in public sector road construction, rehabilitation and maintenance. The Business Management Essentials Training for Road Contractors has therefore been specifically designed to facilitate the capacity building requirements for SME Road Contractors and therefore support the achievement of the project objective. The Kenya Institute of Management (KIM) in partnership with the IFC and Government of Japan will facilitate the proposed business and management essentials training programme
The training programme combines various training methodologies including mentoring/coaching to provide the owner/managers with both knowledge and practical business management skills. In addition, the programme is designed to ensure that participants will have an opportunity to implement their learnings in their businesses and thereby improve their performance, leading to measurable results.
